Ages 8 and up (children must be accompanied by adult)
Walk around APEC’s marsh accompanied by Nancy Tognan of the Queens County Bird Club. Look for our resident breeding birds as well as those passing through on their northward migration. Meet at APEC at 9:30 for a brief orientation; learn to use binoculars and a field guide. Bring binoculars if you have them.
This walk will cover some rough terrain and is not suitable for persons with limited mobility. We will cover about 2 miles through the marsh. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes that may get muddy; you may wish to tuck your pant legs into your socks as a tick deterrent. You may bring insect-repellant and drinking water.
Although this walk is free, pre-registration is required as space is limited. Limited to 20 participants.
