Adults: Elementary School Teachers and Homeschool Parents

Teachers will learn how to identify common trees in NYC and better understand their importance in an urban environment.  We will explore types of leaves, learn about local tree-dwelling animals and discuss the distinct layers found in a forest ecosystem.  Live animal guests and a guided nature walk by a local Naturalist will be part of the program.

Program aligned with Common Core Learning Standards in Science. Light breakfast of home-baked muffins, fresh fruit, juice and coffee included. Limited to 30 participants.
