Join William “Bill” Nieter to hear about the story of Alley Pond – past, present, and future. Through interviews and his own personal experiences, Bill will share his knowledge of the local and natural history drawn from a five-decade commitment to this remarkable place. Learn about the natural world of marshes, tidal creeks, and ancient forests that have stood the test of time and urbanization. Bill will trace the conception and birth of the Alley Pond Environmental Center, a 50-year journey sparked by a group of educators and their families, who were determined to protect “The Alley” for future generations. Come and learn about the beauty on your doorstep at this informative, free event. Attendees will get the opportunity to ask questions and share their memories and experiences of Alley Pond. Light refreshments will be provided.
