Environmentally Strong Structures!

The oldest known surviving human building is at least 9,500 years old, and humans have been building structures well before this. As we learn to deal with the effects of climate change, buildings have to be able to survive greater risks of flooding, wind, and fire. In this exciting new class in our engineering series, students learn about how climate change affects how we make buildings, then are challenged to create structures that will be tested for their stability in handling weight as well as flooding. If your child likes science and engineering as well as a little friendly competition, then this is their program! Masks must be worn at all times. Please let us know if you would prefer your child to not use hot glue, alternative options are available. Limited to 8 students.
