Geologist Jacob's Glaciers Galore!

Geologist Jacob is back for another fun lesson! But bring your coat and scarf because we are traveling back in time thousands of years to explore the Ice Age! We will learn how glaciers sculpted our landscape and look at evidence of their handiwork right here at Alley Pond Park on a nature walk! The highlight of the class will undoubtedly be our discussion of the CRAZY megafauna that called NYC home! Is Long Island really just a bulldozed hill of glacial sediment? Did Mastodons really march through Central Park? Lastly, what happened to cause the decline of these incredible Ice Age creatures- and is there anything we can do, or even a logical reason to resurrect them? The answers will surely astound you! Come along and join us to find out! Masks must be worn by all adults and children, 2 and up, for the entire program. Proof of vaccination is required for anyone 5 and up in order to enter our building. A matching ID will also be required for anyone 18 and up. Dress warmly. Spots are limited.
