Pre-teens - Adults

This seminar will be an instruction on basic self-defense from Coach Butch and Amanda Rinaldi. We will go over true to life scenarios and how to properly escape them. This segment will include both the psychological and physical aspects of self-defense, such as, how to defend against someone trying to pin you to the ground, control you by grabbing your hair etc. Also, we will learn to defend basic punches and review some vital strikes on an attacker. Learning these tactics will boost your confidence in your ability to get out of potentially threatening situations. Limited to 25 participants. Free childcare provided, must call to reserve a spot for your child. $10

Coach Butch is a boxing coach, former Marine and bouncer, while Coach Amanda is a competitive amateur boxer.

Funds raised from this seminar will go towards enhancing our early childhood program and animal care.

Cancellation Policy

Missed or Cancelled Classes: No refunds or credits will be given for any missed programs. If APEC is notified within one week that the registrant cannot attend or if APEC cancels the program, a registration credit the amount of the class will be applied to you account to be used for future APEC program registration. Refunds will only be applied to multi-session programs if the spot is filled. If the spot in the program is not filled, a credit will be applied to your account. A $25 cancellation processing fee will be deducted from the total refunded or credited. Make-Up Policy: There are NO make-up classes for single session programs. A make-up session is only offered for children attending multi-session early childhood programs during the Fall, Winter or Spring. Only ONE make-up program is available, regardless of how many classes a child misses. At the start of the semester, parents will be given a handout with the make-up class date. In order to attend the make-up session, you must notify the Early Childhood Coordinator at (718) 229-4000 ext. 207 to sign up for the class. Notification is required so adequate staff and materials are prepared.
