Walk around Oakland Lake accompanied by Nancy Tognan of the Queens County Bird Club to look for ducks, coots, grebes, swans, geese and more. Oakland Lake never complete freezes because of all of the spring water constantly feeding it, so it becomes a freshwater duck magnet when other ponds are frozen. Learn to use binoculars and a field guide. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet at Oakland Lake - on Cloverdale Blvd just south of 46th Ave.
